2018 App File Sizes Annual Review - Does size really matter?

It’s that time of year again when we ask you, "If size matters?” app file sizes, that is!

Since day one of the thinking behind skignz, we continue with our fascination for the size of apps on our mobile devices. 

In previous blog posts, we have argued the reasons why we do this annual review, why the results turn out the way they do and also introduce ‘new’ behaviours brought about from the types of apps you have on your SMART phones.

Over the last 12 months, we have had to ‘remove content’ from our devices before installing the latest OS update or the next release. This hasn’t happened for the past 2 years. So, are phones file capacity decreasing? Apps increasing in file size? Or does the latest fixes, updates and even the new version of the OS be so ‘bloated’ that it impacts on your storage space?

Most people we speak to have taken advantage of cloud storage either through the OS company like Google or iCloud or they use others such as Dropbox and the various photo storage platforms.
